Cafe Rio – Herndon

Contour Construction delivered the complete redevelopment of an existing McDonald’s property in Herndon, Virginia, beginning with the full demolition of the former restaurant and construction of a new ground up Café Rio location. The project required comprehensive site and building coordination to transition an existing restaurant property to Café Rio’s operational, utility, and brand requirements. As a purpose built fast casual restaurant, the new facility incorporated specialized kitchen infrastructure, upgraded utility services, customer dining areas, and exterior patio seating within a cohesive new building and site plan. Careful coordination of the building envelope, food service systems, interior environment, and restaurant operations was critical to ensuring each component supported the demands of a high-volume food service operation. Throughout construction, disciplined cost control, proactive coordination, and careful management of project resources helped protect the owner’s investment while maintaining the quality and functionality required for the finished facility.
