Contour Construction was engaged to restore the structural integrity of a historic multifamily property in Washington County following a localized structural collapse that compromised a portion of the existing building. The repair required a carefully engineered approach to stabilize the structure while working within the constraints of the building’s historic framing and existing conditions. New concrete footers were installed to transfer loads to stable soil, while a structural steel beam redistributed loads across the compromised area and new floor joists restored continuity within the existing framing system. Precise sequencing and coordination were critical to integrating the structural repairs without unnecessarily disturbing unaffected portions of the property. Through targeted intervention and disciplined field execution, Contour reestablished the integrity of the building while preserving its historic character and protecting the owner’s existing asset.
